COLLIO
DOC produced with red grapes
is
obtained by prestigious red vinegrapes from Collio according to the personal taste and to
the experience of wine grovers. The is higly prestigious since it combines graper with
best properties. Wine producers precisely indicate wheter the wine is so be seasoned in
casks or to be refined in barriques. Best temperature to be served. 18° -
20°C
COLLIO DOC Cabernet
derives from a mixture of Cabernet franc and Cabernet sauvignon. There is a perfect
balance between these two grapes which enhance each other.
It has a deep ruby-red colour which when aged turns to a garnet red. it has a grassy
bouquet which is softened by a scent of flowers. It has a dry, generous, well-balanced
taste with a good structure and ages well.
The "Reserve" quality goes well with the excellent local game. |

COLLIO DOC Cabernet franc
is particulary appreciated when young, because of its fragrance, but even when it is
aged slightly.
It has a ruby-red colour, depending on its age. It has a grassy bouquet which is strong,
penetrating and also persistent. It is full-bodied, well-balanced and distinct.
It goes well with poultry, game or red meat cooked over charcoal. |

COLLIO DOC Cabernet sauvignon
Over the last few years this vine has been spreading with very good results. In 1989 it
was awarded the DOC ranking.
It has a deep ruby-red colour which, when aged, turns to garnet-red. Its strong bouquet is
similar to that of sweet violets and wisteria. It has a good structure with a hint of
tannin as well as being pleasant and well-balanced. It ages well even in small casks.
It goes well with more demanding dishes, red meat and game. |

COLLIO DOC Merlot
derives from the most common red grape vine in the Collio. It has a lively ruby-red
colour which is not very deep and the "reserve" quality has a garnet-red hue. It
has a pleasant grassy bouquet
Itis soft, full-bodied and persistent.
It goes well with rich first courses, red meat, stews and game. |

COLLIO DOC Pinot nero
is obtained using only the grapes bearing the same name, which have been quite common
in the area for over a century. It has a soft but elegant ruby-red colour and a very
personal and delicate bouquet. Ita has a full-bodied, harmonious and elegant taste.
It goes well with rice dishes, first courses with gravy, boiled poultry and white meat
cooked on a spit. |
