COLLIO DOC
Chardonnay
has been grown in the Collio for a long time and was awarded a DOC
ranking in 1989 because of the excellents results it obtained. it has a
bright straw-yellow colour and a defined and strong bouquet. It has a
very good structure and ages very well even in small casks.
When young, it is to be served with rice dished with early garden
produce or delicate fish dishes. When aged, it goes well with tasty
dishes and white meat. |

COLLIO DOC
Malvasia istriana
derives from the vinification of the Malvasia istriana grapes which
have been produced in this area for centuries.
It has a light straw-yellow colour with a hue of green. It has a sharp
bouquet and a slight characteristic aroma of exotic fruit and white
pepper. To the palate it is dry, fresh, lively with a good body.
Very good as an aperitif, it goes well with soups, rich dishes and fish. |

Picolit
A noble and rare wine traditionally grown in the Collio and usually
drunk on special occasions or with friends.
It has a straw-yellow colour with a golden hue. Its bouquet, strong and
pleasant, reminds us of wild flowers and acacia. Its taste is sweet,
open and velvety.
It is a wine to be sipped among friends, whilst talking and between
meals. |

Pinot bianco
is produced using only the grapes produced by the homonym vine which,
introduced in the Collio at the end of the last century, has adapted
itself well.
It has a straw-yellow colour and its bouquet is delicate, fruity and
intense. To the palate it is dry with a good body but at the same time
refined and soft. it goes well with rice dishes, vegetable soups or with
dishes based on eggs or fish. |

Pinot grigio
is one of the leading wines of the Collio. It has a straw-yellow
colour with a slight ash-grey hue.
Its bouquet is intense, pleasant and particular. To the palate it has a
solid structure and a good persistance.
It goes well with rich soups, rice dishes made with light meat. white
meat or with chicken. |

Ribolla gialla
The presence of this wine in the Collio has been documented since
ancient times. Traditionally it was mixed with Tocai friulano and
Malvasia istriana but now wine is produced from this grape alone.
It has a bright straw-yellow colour and an intense and elegant bouquet
with a lively taste.
It goes well with shellfish and other delicate fish-based dishes. |

COLLIO DOC Riesling
italico
derives from the vinification of the grapes produced by the homonym
vine alone and is very common in the Danube region from where it is
believed the originate despite the name.
It has a clear straw-yellow colour with a slight shade of green. its
bouquet is fine and light and it has a very personal aroma. It has a dry
fresh and distinct taste. It goes very well with any kind of fish-based
dish. |

Riesling renano
has been present in the Collio region since the end of the last
century and in recent years has had such great results that in 1989 it
was awarded the DOC ranking.
It has a lively straw-yellow colour and an intense characteristic aroma
which reminds us of the bitter Rennet apple. it has a fresh, delicate
taste.
it goes well with tasty fish dishes and shellfish. |

Sauvignon
is obtained from the vinification of Sauvignon grapes alone and
represents one of the most renowned varieties of the Collio.
It has a straw-yellow colour sometimes with a golden hue, but always
with a shade of green. its bouquet, which is strong and personal,
reminds us of sage and it has a well-balanced range of aromas. it has a
dry taste and a good, generous structure.
it goes well with rice dishes made with early garden produce, clear soup
and nourishing and elaborate first courses. It goes particulary well
with shellfish. |

COLLIO DOC Tocai
friulano
This wine should not be mistaken for other wines with the same name
since its name derives from the "Tocai friulano" vine which is
one of the most traditional and renowned vines in the area.
It has a straw-yellow colour with a pleasant shade of green. Its bouquet
is personal, with a delicate aroma and has a scent of almonds. It tases
dry, full-bodied and well-balanced.
It is excellent between meals and in the Collio it is a classical
aperitif. When eating it goes well with fish but also with grilled white
meat. It is a particulary suitable with the local raw ham even when
slightly smoked. |

Traminer aromatico
is obtained from the vinification of Traminer aromatico grapes alone.
Even though it is not produced in large quantities it has a qualified
host of admirers.
It has a light golden yellow colour. It has a strong bouquet and
distinctive, elegant aroma which reminds us of rose petals. it has a
soft, full, distinct and generous taste.
Excellent with roast or grilled fish and shellfish. Also very good as an
aperitif. |
